Bradlight Plugamabob (Or Lightbrad)

Just wanted to show off my little spoeg en plak invention which I am extremely proud of.

For my specific application, I had the need for a converter plug from Brad Harrison to cigarette socket.

You get lots of cables for this but cables are messy, take up space and I have made up a whole bunch over the years with different sockets and connectors. I wanted a combination type plug.

Also, most 12V camping appliances comes with lighter plugs and you don’t want to go cutting these of and replace with a BH plug every single time, as then you lose the ability to use the appliance in other vehicles, and the plugs are not cheap.

So I started playing around with an idea to construct something as per the photos below. I searched everywhere, but there doesn’t exist such a unit locally or online abroad as far as I could find.

Then I found a stashed away dual lighter socket a few days later and went to work to beef it up somewhat.

Most lighter plug wires are as thin as 3 weaved pubic hairs so I soldered thicker wires onto it that is standard all throughout my vehicle for 5 BH plugs in and outside the vehicle.

The end result is this.

They are joined with Pratley Steel and will do duty over 2 upcoming camping weekends in Aug and Sept.

Someone with the proper skills and tools for designing something like this could I suppose have an enclosure 3D printed to make it look like something bought off a shelf.

Just insert both connectors and tighten them with screws.

No standard plugs & sockets for DC I’m afraid…
We can’t even agree on the name of the BH/Anderson plugs :frowning:
